The child is unable to take on such responsibility. But he can take a feasible part in caring for a pet.
  2. Explain that having a dog in the house is a big responsibility and involve the child in the preparation process. Together, study the breeds of animals, their character traits, learn how to care for a dog, visit the nearest veterinary clinic, buy everything you need for a puppy.
  3. Tá sé tábhachtach choose the right breed. There are dog breeds that are great for families with children (for example, golden retriever, rough collie, Labrador, Newfoundland and many others), there are breeds that do not tolerate small people or for which communication with children can be dangerous (for example, many toy breeds). In more detail with dog breeds, including how a particular breed is suitable for families with children, you can get acquainted on our portal. However, no matter what breed you choose, do not forget that the main thing is the proper upbringing and training of the pet.
  4. Explain that a dog is not a plush toy, but a living being with needs. Be sure to teach your child correct interaction with a dog and do not neglect the safety rules.
